On Buddhist Wisdom:

“Rather than an education system which is geared to taking test and to competition and to preparing people for a particular job or career, the emphasis of Buddhist education is on teaching young people how to learn, how to enjoy learning, to love wisdom for its own sake. It teaches them the emotional maturity enabling them to make use of their knowledge to create a happy life for themselves and their family and to contribute positively to the society in which they live. It in no way compromises on the work of preparing young people to have good jobs and successful careers, but it lets them see that life is deeper and richer than just working from 9-5 in order to buy things.

This is why Buddhist education is not at all idealistic. It is not meant to produce useless people, goody two-shoes who are unable to live in the so-called ‘real world’.  It is rather based on the conviction that the Buddhist path of development and growth can provide the best possible kind of education for most people in the world.”

On Metta:

We plan on blasting the world with metta (loving-kindness hadoukens) one mind/heart at a time, through random but powerful acts of kindness, generosity, and goodness. trust us, the world could use some more love!

in case you didn’t know, metta, or loving-kindness, is a pure, unconditional, and selfless love for yourself and others. it’s truly the most powerful not to mention the coolest form of love in the world, and all of us are capable of it and none of us could live without it. yes, that includes you and all living beings. pretty sweet huh?
